Rottler develops the DBR 1.400 for processing very large aluminum ingots
For 34 years, our customers have relied on the efficiency and process reliability of ROTTLER round bar turning machines. The extraordinary performance and reliability of the machines in this series in 24/7 operation – in some cases for decades – has convinced many users. A few weeks ago, one of our customers commissioned the largest machine to date and is now using it to produce high-quality extrusion billets for use in the largest aluminum extrusion presses of our time.
The machine currently supplied significantly exceeds the dimensions of the models already supplied and opens up new possibilities, while retaining the familiar advantages:
- Workpiece diameter ø 500 mm to ø 1,400 mm
- Workpiece lengths 800 mm to 3,000 mm
- Workpiece weight max. 8,500 kg
- Hydraulic clamping / torque transmission via face driver
- Cutting depths of up to 20 mm (ap) and therefore high metal removal rate (Qw)
- Narrow diameter tolerances and very homogeneous surface quality of the product
- Use of a specially adapted tool concept in conjunction with cost-effective standard inserts
- Real-time monitoring of the machining process
- CNC control Siemens Sinumerik with integration of specific peripheral components such as minimum quantity lubrication, handling systems and extraction with hydrocyclone
