Safety Concepts

We will create a safety concept for your machine and endeavour to meet your requirements in compliance with the applicable standards and guidelines.

WE PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:
  1. Clarify basics & requirements
    • Check the Machinery Directive (EU 2023/1230) or relevant standards (e.g. EN ISO 12100, EN 60204-1)
    • Define the intended use and operating mode of the machine
    • Consider interfaces to other machines or systems
  2. Hazard analysis & risk assessment
    • Identify potential hazards (mechanical, electrical, thermal, ergonomic, etc.)
    • Assess risks (probability of occurrence, severity of injury)
    • Define risk reduction measures (technical, organisational, personal)
  3. Define safety measures
    • Technical protective measures: protective devices, emergency stop, two-hand control, light grid, etc.
    • Electrical safety: protection in accordance with EN 60204-1, shut-off circuits, interlocks
    • Control measures: safety PLC, safe position detection (ISO 13849-1)
    • Ergonomic aspects: user-friendliness, accessibility for maintenance
    • Labelling & warning notices: safety stickers, pictograms
  4. Validation & documentation
    • Perform functional tests of the safety measures
    • Document evidence of risk assessment and measures
    • CE conformity assessment including declaration of conformity (if required)
  5. Training & commissioning
    • Instruct operators and maintenance personnel
    • Include safety instructions in the operating instructions
    • Ensure ongoing review of the measures
