Following the successful delivery of two PFSG 2/110 portal milling machines in 2015 and 2016, we are now proud to announce the delivery of a third machine: The third machine will follow!
DESIGNED FOR HEAVY-DUTY MACHINING OF RAILS AND SOFT PARTS
This machine has been specially designed and developed for the heavy-duty machining of rails and switches. It can be used to cover our customer’s entire product portfolio, whether frogs, switch blades, intermediate rails or stock rails.
As a portal milling machine in gantry design, the portal moves over a fixed plate field of 20 meters in length. The X-axis is equipped with a hydrostatic guide to ensure maximum comfort with maximum machining. Depending on the application, the panel field can be divided into one or two work areas.
MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY AND FLEXIBILITY: TWO MILLING SUPPORTS FOR SIMULTANEOUS PROCESSING
The special feature of the machine is its two milling supports on the crossbeam, which allows the machine to process two workpieces simultaneously. Each support is equipped with a 110 kW drive motor, which enables a maximum torque of 9,500 Nm at the spindle in S1 mode. The efficiency of the machine is reflected in the example of face milling. For steel with a tensile strength of approx. 1,000 N/mm², the machine achieves a metal removal rate of approx. 1,500 -1,700 cm³/min – per support! Stepless positioning of the angular milling head is ensured by the integrated C-axis in the RAM with stepless clamping. This allows us to offer our customers maximum flexibility.
VERSATILITY AND AUTOMATION
The gantry has a movable tool changer with 8 tools per support, so that tool changes are possible regardless of the gantry position. In addition, there is a pick-up station for angular milling heads at the end of the panel field, which enables the drilling of side holes and the milling of bevels. All necessary processing steps can be carried out in one workpiece clamping. The tools are changed and the angular heads are retracted fully automatically at the touch of a button.
